As he ascended into the stratosphere Jack Hamilton looked down at the Earth-a giant ball orbited by a tiny mass of glowing matter-the sun,
BUT THE EARTH WAS STANDING STILL!
Was this the ancient geocentric universe with all celestial bodies subservient to a static central Earth? As he rose higher, Hamilton found he was surrounded by a gigantic lake. A lake vast enough to hold the entire Earth without a ripple.
